Discover the MAP of your gut health with this comprehensive GI-MAP test-Gut Health Profile-DNA stool Analysis + Zonulin. This cutting-edge qPCR diagnostic testing provides an in-depth analysis of your gut microbiome, utilizing advanced DNA sequencing technology to detect and quantify over 20 pathogens, 50 commensal bacteria, viruses, candida/yeast, markers for inflammation, and immune function in your gut.

This package includes a comprehensive intake process along with a 45 minute in depth analysis of your results. None of the results of this analysis make sense unless they are deciphered correctly and can apply it to YOUR system. See down below on "What's included?" section to see what sets this apart from other GI tests.

We know that our gut health severly impacts our hormones, digestive system, immune system, neurendicrine system, how you respond to your diet, organ function, and much much more!

There are several different levels to gut disruption and dysbiosis. The way we read the report and analyze it along with your health history and symptoms plays a huge role in the healing process.

If we cannot identify where issues are arising, then we are constantly GUESSING on our health. Are we just off in our gut microbiome that is protecting us from harmful pathogens? Or are we a step further along in the disruption process where our organs are no longer keeping the pathogens out? Our pancreas produces much needed pancreatic enzymes to use glucose and energy properly. Our gallbladder is designed to make bile and break down many nutrients and our fat intake in the body, or the stomach that is the first line of defense in creating stomach acid to kill off the pathogens upon entering the body and break down our food. Many of these organs become compromised in the interim stages of gut problems. Thirdly, how many of these pathogens have gotten through that defense over the years and have invaded our bodies, and in what amount?! Each pathogen MUST be treated very differently in order to get rid of it.

WHO SHOULD HAVE THIS TEST?

Many people having health problems don't actually experience digestive issues and never correlate it as a gut problem. Depending on what is off some pathogens won't cause an actual digestive symptoms, but will still manifest in the gut and affect other areas of the body. If you have new issues popping up or have struggled with your health in other ways for a long time, it's time to take a deeper look!

Some health concerns that may validate GI-MAP testing:

  • Hormone Imbalances
  • Major or minor food sensitivites
  • Allergies
  • Autoimmune conditions
  • Diabeties
  • Issues with weight loss or weight loss resistance
  • Mood disorders-anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD
  • Arthritis
  • Skin problems-rashes, psoriasis, acne, rosacea
  • Digestive problems-bloating, constipation, diarrhea, acid reflux
  • IBS/IBD
  • Brain Fog

QUANTIFYING RESULTS WITH QPCR TECHNOLOGY

This is the only company in the US exclusively using this technology for stool testing. Although it is very common in in-vitro diagnostics, it is extremely advanced and provides highly-accurate quantification as well as high levels of sensitivity and specificity. Standard PCR technology doesn't offer the same level of sensitivity, or the ability to express precise numerical results.

Accurately assessing how much of an organism's DNA is present in a patient's stool sample is so important in being able to help a practitioner to determine the clinical significance of a pathogenic organism, the dysbiosis patterns, and the levels of treatment.

Because of the sensitivity and precision of the testing, this allows for a way more accurate reading on any retesting to determine the resolve of issues.

WHAT CAN WE SEE IN THE GI-MAP TEST:

PATHOGENS:

Bacterial, parasitic, and viral pathogens! Not everyone that has pathogens will experience direct symptoms and really does come down to the health state of the individual. People with autoimmune issues or immunocompromised tend to experience more symptoms but they can manifest in a number of different ways.

Some pathogens produce toxins but we cannot measure the level of toxins themselves, just the pathogens that may be carrying the toxic genes.

H.PYLORI:

It's been said 50% of the world may have H. Pylori and it can lead to a lot more serious conditions including cancer as it continues to colonize.

COMMENSAL/KEYSTONE BACTERIA:

Commensal bacteria play a role in how we absorb nutrients from our intake, the way our bodies produce vitamins, our gut lining, and protect against pathogens.

FUNGI/YEAST:

Candida is a fungus that can be found specifically in certain areas of the body. Different strains can be found in different areas.

OPPORTUNISTIC/OVERGROWTH MICROBES:

An opportunistic bacteria means it may only create issues in certain people and possibly people who are more immune compromised. In some people, it can create excess inflammation, diarrhea, loose stools, constipation, and stomach pain.

Typically you will only have an overgrowth of this kind of bacteria when your body lacks the GOOD commensal bacteria that keep it from overgrowing. This can be from many things but antibiotic use, poor diet, parasites, and immune system dysfunction.

PARASITES:

This test measures parasites and protozoa. A parasite will live and feed off of a host organism. These parasites can cause a lot of health issues and must be killed off.

H.PYLORI ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANT GENES:

Antibiotic resistance genes for H. Pylori, if present, can show if an antibiotic is resistant. A strain that is deemed positive witll show that a given antibiotic is not ideal for a certain protocol. This shows it may not be a good choice overall for any future infections.

NON-ORGANISM TESTS INCLUDED:

Several other Intestinal markers are tested to look at digestion, GI, immune responses, inflammation, metabolic health, and gluten sensitivity. Many different markers are assessed in this test including pancreatic elastase-1, secretory IgA (sIgA), anti-gliadin sIgA, eosinophil activation protein (EDN), calprotectin, and zonulin. These markers tell us a lot about how the above organisms have affected the system. Knowing some of the markers in this section allow us to understand a lot more about what your system is doing, how it's been affected, and other areas that needed to be targeted as a part of treatment.
